The Foundation is guided by the belief that all children deserve a happy, healthy and safe start to life. We consider parents and supportive communities to be essential players in the successful start of a young person’s life and transition into adulthood.

Throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties, the Hagedorn Foundation provides grants to creative community and public-private initiatives that work to diminish tensions between established residents and newly arrived immigrants.

Why We Do What We Do

The Hagedorn Foundation’s mission is to support and promote social equity on Long Island. The foundation will embody the philanthropic interests Horace energetically embraced during his lifetime. Viewing philanthropy as a way to “be good, do good and look good,” Horace never shunned the spotlight.
